Cat-Moto: ADAC MX Masters Dreetz

The ADAC MX Masters in Dreetz is one of the highlights of the German motocross calendar every year. Demanding sandy sections, tight corners and a passionate backdrop push riders and equipment to the limit. Here are my personal race reports from the weekend – with everything that goes with it: excitement, action and plenty of racing emotions!

Rider statement

“It wouldn’t be a race in the Youngsters Cup if things didn’t happen again! Overall, I had a lot of fun – my speed was strong in all runs, especially when catching up through the field. But as I’ve often said: The starts are still my weak point. I definitely need to keep working on that! Things went solidly in qualifying with 5th place. In the first race, I got off the gate badly again and had to fight my way through the field – in the end, I finished 7th. Things went much better in the second race: again, not a top start, but I was able to work my way forward quickly and finished third. The third race was once again particularly chaotic: another bad start and a small mishap in the sand on the first lap. In the end it was still enough for 9th place, which means 5th place in the overall standings – not quite what I had hoped for, but the pace is right and that gives me confidence for the next races. Now I have to work on my starts so that I can finish the season strongly. Thanks to the whole Catmoto team for their mega effort! See you in Matterley Basin, Great Britain.”

“Things went okay in qualifying: with fourth place in my group, I was able to secure a solid starting position for the races. Unfortunately, the first race got off to a pretty bumpy start. I went down twice in the first few laps and suddenly found myself in 32nd place. But giving up was out of the question! I gritted my teeth, found my rhythm again and fought my way up to twelfth place with full commitment. I got off to a great start in the second race. Starting from 13th place, I made up a few positions in the first few laps. I felt strong on the bike, was able to keep up my pace and caught up with rider after rider. In the end it was enough for a strong fourth place – I was really happy with that! The third and final race promised pure excitement once again: from 33rd on the grid, it was once again all or nothing. I didn’t let myself get rattled, stayed focused and looked for every gap. I worked my way forward place by place and finally saw the chequered flag in sixth place – a conciliatory end to a mixed weekend. It wasn’t my best race in terms of results, but I was able to show that I never give up and that I’ll keep going right to the end. Now it’s time to take the positives with me and go all out again in the next race!”

“I had a strong weekend: I secured a good starting position in qualifying with second place. I got off to a good start in the first race and was quickly in second place. However, I made a mistake when attacking the front, which ended in a crash. Despite falling back, I fought my way back to the front and finished third. Everything went according to plan in the second race: a solid start, flawless laps and a well-deserved race win in the end. In the third and final race, I didn’t get out of the gate in the best possible way. The pace was okay, but I couldn’t do any better than fifth place this time. In the end, it was still enough for overall victory – thanks to consistent performances and a strong second run. I’m mega happy with the outcome of the weekend and would like to thank my team and all my supporters for their great support!”
